What began in 1999 as a volunteer effort has grown into a meaningful community recycling initiative. Habitat’s volunteer-led recycling program collects aluminum cans and scrap metal by dismantling broken appliances and fixtures—keeping materials out of landfills while generating vital funds that support our mission of building safe, affordable homes.

We accept scrap metal and items that contain metal, including broken appliances and fixtures. Collect metal items, drop them off, or volunteer with our recycling team to help turn discarded materials into housing opportunities for local families.
